aimeeDear Tonia,
I’m not a doctor or nurse and each case of CAH with different medical conditions is different. I had my Gall bladder out but spent ten days in the hospital- it was taken out the old fashion way and I have a five inch scar on the right side of my stomach. Was given antibotics all they way thru and also when I went home - have a nice infection. I thought the plus coming out from around the tubing was actually prety neat. They gave me wonderful pain drugs along w/ the double the hydro every day that went also with 3 stress doses 1) in the ER- because I called my endo going in and other times the ER’S called my Endo or the Endo on call. CAH? who is your doctor for this? Nurse - get a call into Dr. H.... 2) during a gastro procedure 3) during the Gall bladder surgery. One thing that I learned was that to much stress dose may also bring the need for insulin shots because it also raises the blood sugar ....isn’t all so much fun. I had my blood sugar checked everyday because of the amount of hydro that I was on.
Medicine isn’t always perfect and they do their best but maybe the above senerio is what they were thinking or maybe they don’t really know or maybe they thought it weas enough. Who knows? ....I ’m a know case in my Er’s - I’m in the computer plus being their enough it’s ya you know me love and kisses- adrenal insuffiency ohhh bleeding OHHHHH. throwing upppp ? you should of been in here earlier.. . My endo is their endo. We like Dr. H ...he’s quiet.
Based on what your dd endo says is the protocol. You’all have to give the ER chance to learn and understand how to do better . They are part of the same proffession that you all trust that does the right things for CAH when it comes to surgery and the like.
I know they like Poppa John’s Pizza also along with info on how to treat in emergency situations. Please make friends with them ...send candy and CAH info before hand .. make love, not war bridges not divide.
