Cherry laneI have the QUEEN of meltdowns living at my house. Mitzi is fine at daycare and through the day...but somehow from the time she leaves day care until she gets home she is a BRAT personified! NOTHING makes her happy! She seems to be angry about something for about an hour and then out of the clear blue she asks for some milk and plays contently for the rest of the evening. Her levels and blood work seem fine. I think we just forget that children GET TIRED. All day in a structured environment and abiding by teachers rules and sharing and doing things other peoples ways......maybe a little meltdown is what they need to do to relieve emotions they do not know how to handle. (not like they can ask for a martini) As unpleasant as it may seem ...I just leave her alone until she feels like doing something other than whining. I use to think it was her blood sugar and still have not ruled this out........... depending on what she has for her snack on her ride home. Fruit or crackers or cheese she is fine CANDY or SWEETS and watchout! They are just little people with bad days also!
