Dear Martha,

Awwww Ok it makes sense now and I think all of this is interesting. Those with female chromosones that have AIS wouldn’t be picked up unless looking for something else. I read that AIS  only comes down the X chromosome ...(I think...) but thank you for the extra thread. I enjoy reading about other conditions  but the other sites and emed also had the focus only with those having male chromosomes.

It’s actually like that one condition of CAH ...the really rare one 17 something? where even those one looks female...is female.....  Has male chromosomes.

I had one doctor mistake CAH for AIS and I ....nothing explained the difference to him. I felt like an idiot doing it also because I came in to get a growth looked at and here I was explaining the difference to him and he was the one in the white coat. As I left - I lso realized that he didn’t get AIS either because those women are tall and beautiful. Me? short and a little cute.

I thought about this question because interesting what the adrogens do without the cortisol cap. I thought the way i was born was the coolest thing on earth and maybe that why my anger for it being taken away. It looked and felt like a deflated ballon and I’ve never seen anything like it since.

 thanks
