aimeeI’m sincere and respectful in asking this question and I was a job coach for people with mental and physical challenges. I’ve been on financial assistance myself for awhile but I don’t understand how CAH could be classified as disability and was wondering what am I missing about our condition? I feel that maybe bringing out why one needs to applying then maybe others on the board could offer suggestions.
If you have clinical depression and I’ve seen that (very scary those people aren’t coming back even with meds and it was my job to support them at work ) then I could understand apply for public assistance. But from being a system worker, it really isn’t fun with the state system worker assigned to your case coming in and documentating every part of your personal business with their helpfulness and caring? disability and you will never be able to make more than a certain amount. I helped this one guy who people thought he couldn’t do anything start his own business and another lady that was put in a job that she was terrible at - i encouraged her to go on to follow her dreams and be a sales rep - both of them ended up making too much $ to keep their disability. I got in trouble because i got two people of the rolls and the agency lost those government checks for sponsoring them.
If it something you think will help your situation then keep at it but it might take two years .
All this best.
