re: Consensus Statement on Management of Intersex Conditions

I look forward to reading the new Consensus Statement. It is such a good tool to learn from for the management & treatment of CAH. It is also encourging to hear that the ’experts’ are listening to our CAH community. ( though no one was invited to participate in these meetings, hopefully next time a CAH advocate will be included)

I agree that CAH is not an intersex condition & should not be classified as such.  DSD is a little better, but by identifing CAH as a ’Disorder of Sexual Development’ to me this still focuses on implying sexual difference of some sort......

The main focus of CAH is the Adrenal Gland & lack of Cortisol production however in many cases genital development in girls is affected & this issue also needs adequate consideration.....

How about VGD   ’Variance of Genitalia Development.’

Thanks for the discussion & opportunity to respond.
