Roberta, first I would say that dex can cause acne and depression.  Please find yourself a good endo who cares about his/her patients. If you are on the right dose, you can lose weight, too much steroid no matter what, will cause weight gain and depression.  Please contact CARES and I am sure they will put you in touch with a good doctor. If you do not take your tablets you will become ill, and yes Addison’s can be fatal.  Addison’s is when the adrenals do not work at all, but you would still have the high androgens.  I have noticed when my son’s dose is not right, he feels depressed.  Please do find a good doctor - there is help out there, so don’t give up.   Shell.
