Danny CarltonGinny is 8, and has SWCAH. She had an infection in her bone several years back, which had to be treated. She still occasionally complains of her leg bone hurting, but her complaints almost always seem to coincide with her having to do something she doesn’t want to do, and vanishes once she realizes her "pain" doesn’t get her out of the undesired task. So we are left not knowing when she’s actually hurting or not.
Ginny certainly doesn’t lack energy, nor courage to try new things. We have to constantly remind her that A. she’s the child and we’re the parents and B. the rest of the world is not waiting with baited breath to join her in her latest ideas.
We do homeschool, so there’s not the same kind of peer pressure that would make her want to simply blend into the crowd. I can remember the fear of being different in a public school setting.
