Well, today I am actually posting on a personal matter. My 13 year old daughter has NCAH. Just because of all of the reading I have been doing on the connection between CAH and insulin resistance, I requested that my daughter’s peds endo do a fasting glucose tolerance test. They would not normally do the test because all of her levels at baseline appeared normal. Well, she tested positive--she is insulin resistant! The doctor wants to put her on glucophage (metformin). I knew this was a possibility but never thought it would really happen. She is overweight, but only by about 10 lbs.
