Kelly, I’m sorry to hear that your daughter now has one more thing to worry about.   I had my daughter (non-CAH, not even a carrier) tested because she has PCO and she also is insulin resistant.  She is slim and has always eaten really well.  I think CAH, insulin resistance and PCO are all androgen disorders and that might be the link.  Maybe having excess androgens can make you insulin resistant and PCO and CAH both cause excess androgens. 

My daughter’s first cousin, who also has PCO and not CAH was tested and she actually has diabetes.  I think the fact that my daughter is really a goody-two-shoes about eating helped her.

I think we’re lucky that we caught it early and hopefully we will nip it in the bud.
