Wayne GoodwinI was told by the oldest endo at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., to put Addisons Disease on my Medic alert necklace. Like you said, most of them never heard of CAH, but they know what Addisons is, and that you need steroid inj., and fluids.
I went to my family MD last week, and he had a new med student , who was training under him. The young man is right here from this town, and after finishing at Michigan State University, plans on moving back to the area. I started to explain what adrenal problem I had, especially the salt wasting, and his eyes light up, and he said that SWCAH w/ 21 Hydro. deff. is most common, and that is what they had studied at college. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO maybe some day, more doctors will be aware of our disease and it needs in a crisis.
