From an earlier thread adrenal shock.
When in adrenal crisis this is life threatening quick steps must be taken and "You Must Be Prepared".
You must give stress dose steriod (IM) now. Call 911. Do not drive in. 911 gets you directly in the door.
In preparation have a medical alert necklace/bracelet (adrenal insufficiency taking steriods needs stress dose steriods now).
Have a sheet of paper and/or computer key stating you have adrenal insufficiency/ the meds your on/the need for stress dose steriods and fluids/previous history/and names and numbers to your medical doctors. Highlight Adrenal Crises is life threatening and may not always present with visible symptoms.
The problem right then is adrenal crises not CAH trying to explain CAH will only cause confusion. Most ED doctors deal with heart/respiratory/broken bone/flu/colds not adrenal disorders. Just think steriods and fluids stat.
