bonnieI was told that Lupron could only be used if there was puberty, i.e. if androgens were being produced by the gonads and not only by the adrenals. Since my son was (and is) prepubertal it wasn’t offered to us. I remember asking for it and that’s what I was told. My son was originally just given the Arimidex and not Cortef and his bone age kept galloping ahead until we added the cortef. So I’m not sure that the Arimidex is even doing much but who knows? We’ve also experienced no growth everytime we tried to give the Arimidex at bedtime. It’s supposed to last in the system for 24 hours so now he just takes the Arimidex in the morning.
One last thing, if you want to delay puberty, you’d take Lupron and not Arimidex. Delaying puberty would probably give him more time to grow.
