re: New Mother to CAH

CAH is not the end of the world.  I am a mother of two with CAH both are salt wasters.  My daughter is 12 and my son is 8.  In womb I had testing to find out if my son would be CAH.  I received a yes.  To date my son particapates in all League sports( baseball, flag football, soccer, basketball) plus since age 3 1/2 he has done dance( tap, jazz, ballet, and couples) and competes in dance at the national level.  In my experence.  My son has had less trouble than my daughter.  Because of my learning getting to know and learn to react?  I do not know.  Just make sure meds are given on time.  My children are given: Cortef every 8 hours and Florinef Acetate once a day.  The time meds are given has been key.  My son has not had the trips to ER that my daughter had.  To tell the truth I would not trade my kids for normal ones in the world.  My daughter is also in the gifted program in school.  School is looking at and deciding if my son qualifies.
