re: allergic reaction

This is a tricky one. My daughter is a hivey kid. She has SWCAH too and is going to turn 9 next month. Her entire body has not broken out in hives though. She gets them on her hands and here and there throughout places on her body. I am doing a little experiement and seeing if they only come when she is undersuppressed. How bad were the hives and how long did they last? Did you guys eat shell fish? Peanuts? Hives are insanely hard to track. They say with a kid it is either a drug or a bug. Bug, meaning virus. UNLESS shell fish come into play. Has he been on any antibiotic lately? My mom NEVER was allergic to pennicillin all her life. At like 40, she broke out in these massive hives from pennicillin that she was taking at the time. Her hair was short in places and you could literally see her hair standing on end from the hives in her head! She was a mess! They said if she was ever given penicillin again she could go into cardiac arrest from the allergic reaction. So if you can die from allergic reactions THAT bad, then why COULDN’T this be an adrenal crisis? What I think you need to do is try and find the culprit of the hives. So scary for you. How is he feeling today?
