Our experience with salt was as follows. At age of about (I think) three months we were given a bottle of saline - salt water - and a syringe. We added the perscribed amount to formula. After a while the doctor said that our daughter didn’t need it anymore - I forget the age exactly but it was less than a year. So our salt stage was not that long.
