My son chewed his meds from the time we switched from the liquid, when he was about 3.  At any rate, we believe he developed cavities only in the place where he chewed and it stayed there all night.  My daughter has never had a cavity and he has had two-in the gap on the same tooth on either side.  When we saw the first one, I looked to see where the tablet collected after he chewed, and sure enough, there was a bit of the tablet in that crack.  I would recommend using the syringe at night if you’re trying not to wake a sleeping child and not do what we did.
