To Aimee"If I don’t exercise walk/ jog 5 miles then I’ll notice being stiff w/ aches and pains plus being harder to move- like shuffle first before walking which might have somethign to do w/ the thyroid (I hope?) I can get those aches and pains in my right hip but the test say it is the left one w/ more osteophrosis. No pains in the knees but they will crack but not like they used to and sometimes I’ll have pain in the fingers".
I was interested in this paragraph Aimee. I have for a long time experienced pain in my right hip and my podiatrist and physiotherapist both suggested that my right leg was shorter based on butt creases or something. To assist this they put extra height on my right orthotic and an extra lift in the shoe. However over time the pain just got worse and worse. Hip pain all night etc. yuk!
So recently my podiatrist recommended I have a CT scan to measure leg length comparison. In fact the result was my left leg was shorter (not by much 0.47cm) but according to new research, enough to warrant a lift on the left side and everything (except orthotic) removed from right side. Voila! Pain gone.
I do have osteoporosis also but am taking a myriad of support therapies in the hope that next DEXA scan will be better. Taking thyroid (Armour T3 & T4), DHEA, calcium with vit D and magnesium; glucosamine/chondroitin; multivitamin/mineral/antioxidant; oestradiol and progesterone; and transfer factor (immune support).
I think slowly and surely I am winning in the pain/stiffness stakes but it seems like I need a truck load of money every month to pay for it.
About the pain behind the eye you mentioned - do you know or have you been told what is causing it? Probably nothing to do with the cause of yours, but I have had pain behind one or both eyes and been told by the optometrist, after eliminating any other causes, that my eyes needed lubrication - so they were evidently quite dry. It made a huge difference putting in some Tears Plus or Refresh or equivalent.
