Hello Michele, my daughter as well was gaining weight when placed on cortef. Our Endo advised us an effect from the cortef would be hunger. We cut down on having fattening foods around and tried to replace it with fruits and what not. I try to stay active with her such and riding bikes, playing catch, anything to get her off the couch and away from the television. I hope this little info helps. God Bless.
