i met our doc yesterday and took the book alongwith.i asked her why the stem test was not done on my son.she answered just what you told me.she said that it is clearly mentioned that only when there is a confusion about the diagnosis  the stem test IS REQUIRED but in our case they were pretty sure with the symptoms that my son has cah so they just did it to check the levels.

p.s :my sons pead has borrowed the book for a few days as she seemed to be impressed with such an ellaborated and understandable material in the book ,and i was asked not to read the book too often as she suggested that some parents like myself dont read and understand the whole topic but grasp some points and jump to conclusions without understanding it.i guess she is right.
