Alison WHi there,
Was the prescription you tried Drysol? It’s supposed to absorb into the skin so that it can’t wash off in the shower. My college roommate used Drysol everyday and swore by it. She also used an antiperspirant in the morning in addition to the Drysol at night. Anyway, maybe something else to try if you are using a different prescription antiperspirant.
I used Certain Dri in college and thought that worked well. It seemed to me to be significantly stronger than the other supermarket brands I tried.
Excessive sweating is a common problem and there may be alternative treatments. Underarm Botox injections can alleviate or eliminate underarm sweating for a period of time. Obviously this is a more invasive measure and is not for everyone, but if antiperspirants continue to be ineffective for you and you remain troubled by this, your physician should be able to give you more information on the treatment of hyperhidrosis with Botox.
Good luck,
Alison W
