re: Growth Hormones and Ultimate Height Prediction
Jul. 6th, 2006   10:23am

When my daughter was born with SWCAH,  nearly 15 yrs ago, our endo told me her height would be affected by her CAH. She told me that my daughter "might" make it to 5’2" with good control of her CAH and proper treatment.

My daughter is 5’7" now.  She never has had a weight issue. She has an endo appointment next Tuesday - I count the measurment by the endo as more accurate of course than the schools measurment. But in any case - she is not short at all!  We have seen her growth taper off on the last few visits, but this is normal for her age.

I think the prediction is just that a "prediction".  With good control of CAH treatment, more kids are reaching higher "height".
