Is there a link between depression/meds/CAH?

Hi all, my daughter Ashley (11 SWCAH) has been so angry and moody ever since her father and I divorced last year.  She throws temper tantrums, talks back to me, bullies her brother and will say inappropriate things when I have company over or if we are at someone’s house.  She thinks I hate her and that my whole life should revolve around her.

Well depression/bipolar/manic depression run on my mother’s side of the family.  My father’s side of the family does not have any history of it and my brothers and I are the only ones that do not suffer from it on my mom’s side.  My sister is currently on suicide watch this week and is bipolar.

My concern is the therapist that we saw for the first time yesterday asked about Ashley’s CAH and the meds that she’s on and she wondered if the depression/moodiness could be linked to this or if it’s just because it runs in the family or maybe Ashley’s just having a hard time adjusting to the divorce.  It was very nasty with lots of yelling and screaming and things being thrown and her father hitting me and punching holes in the wall.  It was a bad time for all of us and now he is in prison for a few years.

So I just wondered what everyone else thought or is this just something that we’re going through because puberty is almost upon us.

Thanks,
