Heat Wave....

How is everyone in the United States handling the heat wave? WOW. It has been hot all across the region! We have been doing a lot of swimming and staying in the air conditioning. Although I hate to stay indoors when our winters are so harsh and keeps us boarded up inside, I would rather dodge the intense heat then to fight it. We have found fun stuff to do indoors.

Be sure to make sure your CAH child has fluids at ALL times when outside. We usually do Gatorade if my daughter is doing something intense outside in this heat. AND plenty of salty foods! They said even if you are in a pool keeping cool, it doesn’t mean you don’t need fluids to keep your body hydrated. (unless you are a toddler and drink the pool water by the gallons as they usually do) Ick. I heard some of the adults with CAH carrie Sea Salt in their pockets on these hot days. Sounds yummy to my daughter. The news said that you are in big trouble if you quit sweating in this heat because that is a sign of sun stroke. Imagine our kids with CAH.

Stay healthy and keep cool everyone!
