Does she have to fast the whole weekend?  I would bring this up with the doctor.  I was told that Ashley would have to fast for 7 days and I thought that was wrong.  I turned out to be right.  She fasted from 7PM the night before up until the surgery that afternoon.

And just remember that Jello is considered a liquid.  She hates Jello now but back then when she was 11 months old she couldn’t get enough of that stuff.

They also put Ashley’s IV in her foot because they thought she might pull it out of her arm.  And it was wrapped really well and she was tired and didn’t really care about it in her foot.  Two days after the surgery we left for home and when they removed the catheter she didn’t cringe or do anything at all, so it might be different for some people. 

When I had my catheter removed after surgery I thought it stung for a minute or two, so everyone’s different.
