Thank you for both of your opinions.  I am feeling quite stressed about making this decision.  My son missed a couple of months of school due to illness and by law the regular school was to provide tutoring for him.  He received 2hrs. of tutoring for the entire time he was out of the classroom.  I asked for more and even requested he miss one of two recesses to help him in areas I felt he had missed and was struggling with.  He never received this.  I was the one who "taught" him and helped to keep him on the same page as his classmates.    He ended up getting on the honor roll for the entire year.  It wasn’t because of the school.  I feel if he is taught at home he wouldn’t get so sick and wouldn’t need stress doses of steroids as often.  He has high blood pressure, a bleeding disorder, has had GI bleeding x2 in the past, and now he is having difficulties with breathing.  By the way, there is no school nurse at all!  He sees 4 main specialists every 3 months and has to miss school to meet with them.  If he was home-schooled, he would never get behind because he would not move on until he mastered the subject area.  I guess my point is, I am more stressed by him getting sick when he is around other children and missing so much school than I think I would be to home school him.  I know it would be stressful, but in a better way than if he was in the hospital and getting behind in his studies.  He would be able to complete his assignments later in the evening or on weekends if needed.  Again, thank you for your opinions. They really do matter to me, both negatives and positives.
