Dear Le,

I agree - lots of babies look chubby - it’s cute! But it’s so normal to worry (I do it all the time) - and good on you for your devotion to your daughter and thinking things through. CAH twists my brains somedays!!

The only other thing I can think of is does your daughter have SWCAH? Is her Florinef dose OK? Sometimes it’s a matter of balancing the glucocorticoid side of things as well as the mineralocorticoid dose... But then they talk about weight loss with inadequate Florinef, so that doesn’t make much sense either...

Hang in there - it does get easier - there are just these times that are up and down, but you get through them in the end. We look back at photos now, and some we go "wow! too many steroids there!!" and others still look chubby, but not "Cushingoid" - more just normal chubbiness - and others just "normal". The point being, it’s really hard to judge your own child’s face at times, because you see them every day. Best to go by an independent person’s judgement sometimes (like your doctor’s) - what they see and you see are likely to be quite different. But am I saying your doctor knows more about your child than you? No - we parents play a vital role. More, it’s a balancing act, and sometimes we need to take a step of faith and trust on someone else’s judgement too. Blood tests included :)

Complicated!!! May make no sense at all - sorry!

All the best!
