Toddler refusing to eat.......... Need Help
Jul. 30th, 2006   6:56pm

My oldest child (2 years), who is believed to have 11b-hyd def (stim test results were not conclusive- wainting for genetic testing) has always been a pokey eater- I was hoping his eating and weight gain (he is only 23 1/2 lbs) would improve once he started on both corteff and florneff (I know typically folks with 11b aren’t salt wasters- but not my boys....  my 6 month old almost died @ 5 weeks due to a salt wasting crisis-  that is what lead us down this long road).  He has gained maybe a pound since treatment started (end of May) but his eating is still worrisome.  Has anyone else had similar experiences?  Could this be due to mistreatment of CAH?  He had labs done about 3 weeks ago and the doc was thrilled with the results.  Does anyone else have these eating issues?  My younger son is a "eater" now-  he is in the 50% percentile for weight-  My older is in the 4%, up from the .8% though........  Am I expecting too much?  Is this just a toddler thing?  He is 2 after all......

Sorry to be so long winded- I am just at my wits end!  I did send an e-mail to his endo and will be calling his Ped to make sure it isn’t an ear infection or what have you that is causing this poor appetite!

THANKS for your responses-  a worried mom
