After vomiting we give a double doze in hopes that enough of it is digested to prevent further vomiting. We wait just long enough for them to be through with that spell. I usually give them Mountain Dew to sip on (SIP on) and the combination of sugar, caffeine and carbonation helps settle their stomach somewhat. If they vomit again, then we go for the Phenergan, wait from fifteen minutes to a half an hour to see if that’ll work, and give another double-dose (since the first would have been vomited up). If the Phenergan doesn’t work we use the shot. If they haven’t improved within half an hour after the shot, the ER. But, each step from the initial vomiting all the way through is accompanied by a phone call to the PedEndo. He doesn’t mind,but there are some occasions where we’ll wait until we need the Phenergan to call.
