My 14 year old daughter (SWCAH) has had braces for a year and a half.  She did stress dose when she got them on...just in case....but she didn’t have any problem.  We’ve never stress dosed when having them tightened every month but she’s never had to even take an Advil.  She says they really don’t bother her.  She’s got high pain tolerance anyway, thank goodness!
