Hey i’ve previously been on hyrdocortisone and prednisolone. Hyrdocortisone i think was the best in some ways, however my levels were sky high and my voice started to deepen and i had weight gain. I was then moved onto prednisolone which from my personal experience was a nightmare, weight gain, the stretchmarks started, the hair started, bad acne and worst of all serious depression and i just couldn’t concentrate in school, i’m quite glad they didn’t work in the end to be honest! They weren’t sure what to do next either go the hydrocortisone pump way or dex, they chose dex, although they weren’t too sure because not that many children in the uk go on it because of the side effects, when the dose was too high i had a bloated face and weight gain and stretchmarks with acne but then i was TOO supressed( the first time in my life they’ve gone the better way!) But recently they’ve got the levels between 30-70 which apparently is great! and all my side effects eg stretchmarks are fading etc, but alot of people work beter of hydro or pred so i suppose it depends on the person....But dex has worked best for me, although if my levels go again my parents are tempted to go to london to discuss the hydrocortisone pump with prof. hindmarsh.
