Laura,

Whatever people do for their particular child is the right thing and it’s always important to try and put yourself in the other persons shoes. I wonder what I would think about CAH and particular to my degree of virilization if I wasn’t born with it.  I also realize that I personally would be more comfortable with studies done - reports from parents on this subject vs what one or two people say one way or another on the internet. Just because I liked how I was born and had no trouble with it doesn’t mean that others don’t with their particular anatomy. I would like to see more of this topic on medical sites like from John Hopkins,  Cornell, or the U of Mich. I value those scientific papers when it will benefit us and would like a study about this instead of Gee does she play with a truck or when does she date. I do like that I was tld the surgery was done flat out to make me look normal....yes their normal ; ) nobody  oh geeee beat around the bush  and yes was for to allow period flow but the thing is was wit out the it must hurt assumption or this lady had it done and she’s Ok. It was flat out we did this because we wanted you to look normal and I can respect that. I’ve talked with my ped Endo - Nice old Humble man - He’s funny too: ) and we talked about how back in the day ....it came from the 70’s ! they did the best they could and we went on to talk about how today reallt each case is different and needs to be look at individually.

It does make one wonder about that males do get intense feelings ......blue    in the genital area but nobody is going after them but it is a realization about yet again what is Ok for a male to feel but not a female. I like to look at things from a social perspective.
