Carolinethanks for the information,
i do believe i’m on the right path now, today is my 1st day trying hydro, he told me to take 20mg am + 10mg pm, but i’m going to split it 10-10-10 instead. I talked to the CARES foundation and they agreed that 30mg for a 29 year old adult is a little on the high side. All conversion tools i’ve used say that 0.625mg dex is 25mg of hydro! I’ll start with 30mg see how i feel. I like that you’re taking 10-5-10, I was wondering if I could do that, i’ll remember that one. I found some very interesting documentation on advanced thyroid issues. It says that when the TSH is high but the T4 is normal, the thryoid system itself is fine, it’s the conversion of T4 into free T3 that’s the problem. Then it describes things that may hinder the conversion process, one of it is too much corticosteroids in the blood!!! and too much cortisol!!! so it looks like eventhough my labs are normal (testosterone in the normal/very low range, and progesterone in the normal/low range) i’m oversteroided (slightly). I just want to get off the dex, it’s causing too much hassle for me after 18 yrs. GERD, bone density is low, extreme weight gain issues, etc... A friend of mine with SWCAH went from hydro to dex and gained 40lbs in only 2 months!!! can you believe it? wow! I hope this helps me lose weight, I love to exercise and i’m now too tired and too fat to even speed walk, my ankles hurt too badly!
here’s the clip from the article on thyroid issues. I got it from www.garynull.com, he’s a leading expert on alternative medicine. yes Armour Thyroid is an all natural thyroid medication. it’s the only one that has both the T3 and T4, it’s taken from the thyroid of pigs before they get slaughtered. It was even covered by my group medical coverage through work. Only cost me $2.38 for 3 months worth. I spoke to the spokeswoman for the thyroid foundation here. She told me that many many people have switched from synthroid or eltroxin to Armour Thyroid and feel much better! that is if you really do have hashimoto’s disease. Treating the thyroid just because the labs say it’s low, can mean you end up leaving the underlying problem unresolved (i.e high cortisol, high corticosteroids).
I’ve decided to seek a naturopath, i know they’re not legal in the US and you guys are caution about those types of docs. but here in Canada they are board certified and have to complete a 4 year doctorate in naturopathic medicine before working. They specialize in advanced hormonal imbalances, and endocrine issues. several adults with CAH here in canada just go to naturopaths instead of their regular doctors! so i’m excited to see what she says next week, and prescribes
