HopeJust wanted to take a poll from the veteran parents... how old were your children (with CAH) when they began preschool.
My son is 3, and we had plans to enroll him our school district’s Early Intervention preschool because he is speech delayed. School is in session four days a week, three hours per day, and students may enroll for as little as 1 or as many as 4 days per week. However, my husband does not want to send him, and feels that he is too young for preschool. He is also very concerned about his lack of ability to communicate verbally (Catch/22!), as well as the whole issue with him being unable to tell someone if he does not feel well.
I had a meeting with the school today to address our concerns and let them know that he will likely not be attending classes, and I could tell that they thought we were just overly attached (is there such a thing???), over-protective parents. I left the meeting feeling pretty down. So, I decided to bring it up here, with people who really get it and won’t just think I need to cut the umbilical cord, already.
Thanks in advance all. My best to each one of you.
