My CAH daughter started day care at age 1 and she did not start talking until age 2.
I also have a daughter (non-cah) that is speech delayed. She is now age 5 1/2 and speaks like a normal 4 year old. At age 3 she hardly spoke at all and was very hard to understand. She did not qualify for our early intervention. I also had her evaluated at age 16 months because she wasn’t walking yet and they warned me that was a sign that she would also be speech delayed..
She will be starting Kindergarten this year and I will be signing her up for speech classes
