do you know for sure he has a speech delay? and what does ’speech delay’ really mean? because all kids start talking at different ages. My 19mo cah dd doesn’t really talk at all other than ’mom’ when she’s upset, she can make some animal noises, and grunt, but the dr isn’t concerned. My 3 1/2 yo nephew didn’t really talk until recently and now he’s a little chatter box.
As for preschool, I’ve decided not to send my 3 1/2 yo dd because she doesn’t start kindergarten for 2 more years. I dont feel that 2 years of preschool is necassary...they’re going to be going to school for the next 12+ years, why rush them into starting school? why not let them be kids while they are? I think one of the best things to help kids learn to talk is by reading to them. read read read.
I dont know, that’s just how I feel. hope it helps
