Aimee is correct, drinking water and keeping the arm warm beforehand is a good idea.

The only other thing I can say is that Elsa cried at her last blood draw - it was upsetting, I cried too. When she saw me cry she calmed down a lot. I think she needed to know that Daddy understood that it was a painful process.
