I’m not a a doctor or a nurse and I could never assume what was going on here. I would be at primary care doc, endo, or Er if had anything swelling.   

I have Simple - Virlizing CAH and took prednisone 7.5 mgs + /day for 33 years and switched to hydrocortiosne 25mgs/day. I didn’t switch slowly either and never had any trouble at all. This was all done with the doctors  monitoring and interest -saw him six months later and he liked the blood work.

For the thyroid-  

I had to see the endo every 3 months as  the synthroid was adjusted to the correct dose.
