chloeHey,
I’m a girl so it may be different for me, but i’m 5ft 4 and i should have stopped growing now they’ve said. I did go on soladex(sp?) injections for a year to slow down puberty though, if i did not have that i’d probably be only 5ft. My weight has gone up and down over the years due to different doses of medicine etc, but now i’m 14 and puberty is balancing out more my weight has become alot better, i think i’m lighter than i was at 11/12! I have to admit i think i’ve been quite lucky with my height really because alot of people even with cah are 5ft and under.
Anyway i was writing to tell you something that alot of cah patients i’ve heard are taking and my dad was thinking of giving me. Growth hormone injections help height if taken at a age when still growing! Also by the time your son is old enough to get these injections, i’m sure there will be many more ways of helping growth, as athletes and trainers are often looking for ways of doing this. If i was you i’d speak to your doctor about growth hormone and look into it a little more, sorry i don’t know that much about it, but my dad said ages ago about it and suddenly i’m finding it’s becoming and increasingly popular thing.
Also there are quite a few men with cah who do grow to good heights of 5ft 9/10 etc.
But i would look into the growth hormone. Also a new hydro pump has been developed but i wouldn’t look into that for another few years, so they can make sure it’s right etc.
Hope that helps:)
