I think pred can be taken once or twice a day. This is something that is up to the prescribing dr. If your son is doing ok, then I would wait until his first labs. Taking it in the morning is probably better as far as being able to sleep, plus the dr probably wants to keep it simple to make it easier to get your son to comply. Let us know how it goes.
