I  also appreciate  Aimee’s comments about her exams and how they made her feel as a child and an adult. I am sure no one likes to hear the ugly truth about someones treatment and how it affected them emotionally. But .... the fact is .....this does HAPPEN and  Aimee has been abused. For the sake of medical knowledge and in the name of medical examinations. We all know it is important to have our children examined and medicated and receive the BEST medical care known to man..... all she is trying to do is make us AWARE that some of this medical protocal can have damaging effects. I think we NEED to hear ALL aspects of treatment in the past to enrich the treatment for our children TODAY. For some the cold hard truth can be overwhelming and put the fear of God in all of us. We are our childs protector and we need to explore ALL avenues of medical technology and protocal of physical exams when it is on our children. Due to Aimee’s courageous telling of her past it has given me the insight to not let ANY Doctor examine my child in this manner unless he / she has medical prove that it is neccessary. No peeks....no touching. When she is of age to get an exam and it can be explained we will  move forward . But until then the Doctor will have to take my word that nothing has changed. We owe there minds the same dignity that we provide them with every other aspect of there life. If Aimee has the desire to let us KNOW what happened to her we need to understand and offer support...... not therapy! I would hate to think this board is of good use to SOME who need support on subjects that are appealing and to the ones that is not we are not as understanding. I would like to think anyone can express the good ,bad and the ugly of CAH and not be judged. This will be the only way we will ALL benefit from a support network. If you don’t like the subject matter ....simple don’t read it.... Move on to a nice little post that you can feel all warm and cozy about and hang your hat on your dreams and visions of WHAT you want CAH to be and not what it REALLY is in some cases!

Thanks Aimee for helping me be a better in tune parent!

Sincerely Cherry
