Sorry that some seem to be being hard on you.  The night time tablet is important as it stops the ACTH from rising high, which in turn causes 17 OHP to raise.  I would think the 8 am dose would be suffice to bring the levels back to normal. If this was my son and it happened again, I would probably give a double dose in the morning after the missed tablet just to make sure.  It is good to see that you are so concerned but I am sure it is nothing to worry about but I do UNDERSTAND your worry.  This is what this board is for to share our worries and fears.  I am sure your son knows how important it is to take tablets and when my son was 9, and staying at a friends, I am sure he would have become so caught up in the event, that he may have forgotten.  To "Don’t Freak Out" - what if her son had become ill in the night?  Yes one missed dose may not cause harm, but not all children at 9 want the responsibility of remembering tablets - boys especially.  It is good to see a very caring parent who is diligent with their son’s meds.
