ToniaHi all! Hope you had a great summer. Our 10 year old ssw cah daughter started 5th grade on Wednesday. Her school has no air conditioning so they keep the windows open to allow air flow. It is so HOT! in her school, she drank 3 bottles of water yesterday. With open windows, the bees get in. She had a bee flying around her head yesterday in music class. The teacher was extremely cavalier about it. Abby is deathly allergic to bees! And needless to say terrified. I corrected the situation with the school and they will now be sending her info and picture to each and every staff member to let them know about her allergy. The heat at the school is also kicking her butt and I’m worried that until the heat subsides we should stress dose her at 1 pm. So my questions are..... Should we have Abby carry her epi pen with her at all times? It’s a big school and getting to the nurse may not be quick. Her history is to swell immediately and have resp. problems. The other is her nurse offered for Abby to eat lunch in her office with a friend every day if she wants. Her office is air conditioned but it’s also full of germs! Thanks for listening and please let me know what you think.
Blessings,
Tonia
