i know!

it sucks that it doesn’t have renin. i’m in the process of reducing my dosage. i’m 29yrs old with swcah. since 11yrs old i’ve been on .75mg of dex daily + 0.1mg florinef. i was over steroided 3 years ago, took over 9 months for my doctors to figure out what was wrong with me. i’ve been put down to 0.65mg/day of dex 2 years ago. been feeling ok except for excessive weight (5’ 230lbs). since my gallbladder’s been taken out (9mnths ago) i’ve gained 35lbs, my thyroid is over suppressed now (steroid induced hypothyroidism i just found). since reading the postings on this board for a few weeks now. i’ve discovered that my dose is too high. i’ve always been told by all my endos that i should never ever go down lower than .5mg/day of dex. and that my levels should always be the same as a normal woman’s or else i’ll end up in trouble with pcos and insulin resistance. also, i’ve been told that low doses will make me have anxiety attacks, nervousness, and will make me light headed and have trouble keeping my blood sugar up as it will always crash from not having enough steroids in the blood.

do any other swcah adults out there take less than .5mg of dex?

i’m currently reducing and i’m at .563mg/day and feeling light headed sometimes, higher energy, weird sleeping patterns, might just be my endocrine system re-adjusting from being so steroided, and my thyroid coming back alive :-)
