always go into mild crisis when trying to reduce - what’s going on?

As some of you may know, i’ve been diagnosed with hypothyroidism due to problems converting T4 into free T3. Thyroid medication doesn’t work on me either, my bloodwork came back higher on thyroid meds. found an article that explained that T4 to T3 conversion problems are caused by factors like: high corticosteroids, and high cortisol in the blood.

so i asked my endo to switch+reduce my dosage, he was very reluctant and argued with me. agreed to try going from 0.625mg dex (1/4 tab am/1 tablet pm + 0.1mg florinef pm) to 30mg of hydrocortisone.  every day i’d feel chills, was crying, panicky, nauseous, etc... after 5 days went into mild crisis. went to the ER, gave me a shot of hydro 100mg, put me on saline. all bloodwork came back normal. Even my thyroid!!! my TSH levels were lower than they have been in months! without drugs either! So took these results back to my GP, he agreed that i should reduce my dosage of dex. I went from 0.625mg /day to 0.563mg /day taking it in the morning instead of at night like i used to. i’d get heart palpitations all day long, i would take me a while to fall asleep from my heart punding so much. then after 5 days i got one of the worst crises of my life. was at the drug store and felt like i’d faint on the way to the car, i was so light headed. i took an extra 1/2 tablet of dex (0.25mg) at home, checked my temp, it was at 99.3 for no reason!  i gave myself a shot of solu-cortef 100mg on the way to the hospital. still didn’t feel better, tehy put me on saline, gave me another 100mg of solu-cortef, and gravol for the nausea. felt much better, this morning i went right back to taking 1/4 tablet instead of an 1/8th. i felt very faint again, my skin felt cold, i had chills and was shaky, by 11am i had a temp of 99 again, had non stop diarrhea this morning (and yesterday too), took immodium, gravol for my nausea and gagging. I just woke up from a long nap this afternoon, and can feel girggling and cramping in my gut again.  i ate rice and salmon for lunch, as i finally got hungry around 1pm.

why is it that every time i try to reduce from 0.625mg i end up having to double up after a week since i feel so horrible? Am i meant to stay at 0.625mg? Here are my results on 0.625mg dex /day.
