ErinI think it’s an interesting question, but I’m afraid I don’t have an answer. All I know is that when I was 11/12 I wanted things I dont want now (a perm, tattoo, etc.). When I was 18 I pierced my eyebrow-- Now I look back and laugh at myself and say "what was I thinking?".
Yes, CAH may never go away, but I’m concerned that when she’s 25 she may not want a tattoo anymore. Also, as someone who works with/for CAH everyday, sometimes you just need a "break" from it. I can’t imagine having to see a glaring reminder every time I look at my wrist. At least with the MedicAlert jewelry, you can take it off. I think a tattoo, while an interesting solution, is a big step for something we’re not sure will even be effective.
