new pregnancy and decisions
Sep. 1st, 2006   1:32pm

I have just found out that I am pregnant with my third child ( a surprise and I still cannot believe that I am writing ’third’!)  I have two daughters with SWCAH.  I debated and debated about taking dexamethasone with my second daughter and decided not to.  I did not regret this decision as I had researched it and made an informed decision and I think that they will be of great support to each other in later life.  I am now in this position again and while I am swaying more towards not taking it again I just would like to hear from others especially from girls/women who have not had surgery and their mum did not take dex.  CAH is not a big issue for our family and we feel it is a part of who the girls are but it is still so hard to make the right decision for us and this child.  I know that taking dex. is practically the norm in the USA but noone is my country has done so.

thank you joanne
