Fortunatley, we haven’t had to use it...but we have a few vials in case of emergencys. We have one at home, in each car, diaper bag, grandmas house, etc.. just in case something were to happen. I have read stories of kids being in car accidents....The mom hesitated to give the solu-cortef and instead waited til they got to the hospital. She could see signs of crisis before arriving to the hospital. Solu-cortef can save lives. In case of a tramatic event, car accident, broken bone, severe dehydration, not being able to keep med’s down due to vomiting, etc. I’m still not as prepared as we should be. For example, we went rafting this summer and almost forgot to take the solu-cortef with us. If something were to happen and she needed that...it could very well be 5+ hours before we could’ve gotten medical treatment and that may have been too late if something happened.Kristy
You live and you learn, dont beat yourself up about it, just change it from now on. Get a prescription for your dr’s...get a few vials of it and take it wherever your child goes. The nurse practitioner at the endo’s office instructed me how to use the injection. Ask your dr...you are your childs best advocate!
best of luck
