I’m not sure if you were asking me or Joanne but in my case we decided against it for a number of reasons.  Firstly I am not a big fan of medication and prefer to take as little as possible, so taking this strong dosage goes against most of my thinking.

Secondly, the long term risks to a baby that DOES NOT have CAH are unknown, the dex can continue to come thru breastmilk long after the baby is born and if the child does not have CAH this can be dangerous.  Also I believe the mother has to deal with some unpleasant side effects.

Finally, it is not guaranteed that the dex will eliminate the risk of the baby having ambiguous genitalia.  The statistic I read on CARES was 85% success rate.

I prefer to leave it in the Lords hands.  If he chooses to give us another child with CAH then we will deal with it just as we have with our first son.
