sorry, i don’t have much time to check the website!  Thank you for your comments.  Basically I decided not to take the dex before because of the same reasons as KiwiCarla, that is there is no research into the long term effects and noone can say what the emotional effects are for the foetus.  It can cause depression in the mother, and although i would not be prone to this I was concerned that it would also affect the foetus and how can this possibly be measured.  One of the real plus points I feel of not taking the dex is that my daughters can be of real support to each other, things that they will not want to talk to me about they can hopefully with each other, also there is only 2.5 years between them so they will go through things at similar times.  Also I felt that it could cause difficulties for my older daughter if her sister did not have the physical effects  of CAH, as she did not have the opportunity of dex, perhaps this would have caused her greater emotional difficulties.  However, Kerry’s comments are very interesting and worth considering.
