Test for Drug Allergy or Not? We can’t decide...

A few months ago my 3 yr old daughter with SWCAH broke out in an all over body rash. It wasn’t raised, but it was definitely itchy. I mean she had it everywhere, hands, face, neck you get the picture. We have pictures of her, and she looks more flushed then rashy. Even her peticeal (sorry I don’t know the correct spelling) veins in her face were broken.

At the time, she’d been put on Omniceff, a type of antibiotic for an ear and sinus infection. That’s what the ped thinks the rash was from. BUT, the sun seemed to make it worse, so he wasn’t sure because he says there is no sun sensitivity from Omniceff.

We even had her tested for a possible allergy to seafood because she ate it for the first time around then. The results were negative.

Her ped suggested that after she was well enough, and the rash was all well and gone that on a day when they had a full nursing staff working that he would test her for an allergy to Omniceff. I know that we really need to know for sure, but I am really really concerned that something will happen, especially with her CAH. The hospital is literally next door to their offices, so it’s not like she couldn’t be taken there if need be. I just can’t decide for sure.
